About HRP:

Habitat Recovery Project (HRP) is a Louisiana-based, community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our vision for Louisiana is a healthy, prosperous, food-secure state that actively prevents pollution and mitigates it wherever it occurs.

We’re bringing this vision into reality through education and by supporting grassroots initiatives that restore foodways, reverse ecological decline and habitat loss, and leave Louisiana a better place for our descendants.

Our Partners:

We work hand in hand with our dedicated partner organizations, and act as their fiscal sponsor:

  • Fishermen Involved in Sustaining our Heritage (FISH): A coalition of dedicated commercial fishermen safeguarding Louisiana’s coastal ecology and fishing industry from petrochemical pollution and aquatic habitat destruction.

  • Mossville Environmental Action Now (MEAN): Residents of the Mossville, Louisiana area who’ve spent 40 years holding polluting industries accountable for local environmental destruction.

  • Fisherville Environmental Action Now (FEAN): A faith-based environmental advocacy organization seeking to prevent and reverse pollution in the Fisherville area. Their focus is the intersection of religious belief with the stewardship of the natural world.

  • Concerned Citizens Table of Lake Charles (CCTLC): Is a Lake Charles area organization helping residents influence their local government and push back against petrochemical industry exploitation. It focuses on local elections and bringing awareness to major policy issues.
